In 2025 and 2026, Heijmans is carrying out a major renovation of the Wilhelminaplein on behalf of the municipality of Eindhoven: new paving, modern sewage infrastructure, and high-quality street furniture. The site is located in the heart of the city, directly adjacent to restaurants, shops, and a busy public transport hub. Heijmans deployed multiple electric machines on this project.
The project served as a demonstration pilot for emission-free work in an inner-city environment.
Unitial’s approach
Unitial supplied a Smart Box that powers Heijmans’ construction site.
Key points:
- Real-time monitoring of energy consumption per machine via the Energy dashboard
- Smart charging planning, optimal distribution to avoid grid peak loads
- Alerting, users received notifications when residual current devices or circuit breakers tripped
- Pilot Dynamic load balancing. The Smart Box actively monitors the grid connection and ensures capacity is never exceeded through Dynamic load balancing.
